Saints & Snots

I feel like a total snot! Here I am complaining about sleeping outside ONE silly night (see camping post) when one of my best friends is living and teaching every day in the Nicaraguan heat without air conditioning. Again, I'm a snot but she's a saint.

Who is she? 

Kelsey, the saint, is incredible so I must brag. She and I were college roommates and Pi Phi sisters. She has an adventurous soul and a huge heart for people. 

What is she doing?

After two years of living in Denver, Kelsey moved to Nicaragua where she will be stationed for the next two years. She is helping head a program for the Granada Christian Education Center for El Puente ministries. 

Hopefully, she and her team's efforts will result in a brand new school for Nicaraguan kiddos in the future. In the meantime, she gets to spend her days with some of THE. MOST. PRECIOUS. KIDDOS!!

Why should you care?

Kelsey is brave and bold. I want to encourage my readers to be brave and bold too, and to step out in faith. I look up to her because she's taken the initiative to walk through an open door. It's possible the door could have closed, but it didn't and it hasn't. Because of her step of faith she has found herself investing in precious lives in another country. It may sound scary to think about what would happen if you or I stepped out in faith, but doesn't God know us best and know how much we can handle? I encourage you to keep your eyes on the King and bravely step out in faith.        

                  

    WALK towards the direction of your dreams. 

                                                    (Heck, feel free to run).

    USE the gifts He's given you.

                                        (Because He expects you to).    

    BRING glory to Him. 

                              (Because He deserves all of it). 

He'll point you in the right direction, but you just have to walk through the door.
