Between a Rock & Root

Camping. My nemesis.

Anyone who knows me knows that I find camping difficult and ridiculous. I have a very hard time understanding why we can't just enjoy nature without sleeping in it. My husband knows he has to mentally prepare me a week in advance before we go camping, and though I aim to have a positive attitude, once the day arrives it doesn't always work out that way. There is always something inside me that wants to kick and scream on the ground like a little kid who doesn't get their way. Eventually, my terrible attitude subsides once I get to the campsite with our friends, grill up a hot dog and settle in.

Something my husband quotes often from Razorback quarterback Tyler Wilson is this, "You CAN"T control everything but you have COMPLETE control over your attitude and effort..."

Moral of the story? Learn to control my attitude EVEN if it means sleeping between a rock and root.

 The Locale

The manly men cookin' breakfast skillet-style

 Preppin' the fire

Morning Glories

Speaking of attitude...did I mention we had a flat tire on the way home?
